Before joining Danielson Harrigan Leyh & Tollefson, Katherine Kennedy clerked for two federal judges— the Hon. Justin L. Quackenbush, formerly Chief Judge of the Eastern District of Washington, and the Hon. William Dwyer of the Western District of Washington. She practiced law from 1987 to 1991, and from 1991 to 1994, she taught legal writing, research, and analysis at the University of Washington. She is primary author of the second edition of Legal Writing in a Nutshell (West Publishing, 1996).

Katherine joined Danielson Harrigan Leyh & Tollefson in 1995. The firm calls upon Katherine to analyze the novel legal issues that often arise in its practice, to brainstorm strategy, to develop and craft legal arguments, and to exercise quality control over our written work product.
